We are so excited! But of course, the day couldn’t pass without problems. Yesterday was supposed to be launch night. The ebook went on very quickly without a hitch. Then the paperback was rejected despite identical contents… why? Amazon claimed that the book was already out there in the public domain and in an unspecified foreign language. They demanded I send proof of my right to translate the book to English, and provide details of the original writer, including their death details. WHAT?! I wasn’t told about this problem for six hours after the rejection either, so I had no idea what went wrong.

Anyway, I responded with a load of “IT’S MINE! I HAVE PROOF!!” evidence, and had to wait another six hours for resolution. We didn’t want to announce it until they were both for sale and it totally ruined launch night. I’m terrified it will happen again so hurry and buy the book!

    also as Jay mentioned during their Research and investigation for this case I as well felt disgusted and filled with emotions especially anger and sadness lies after lies how can you not be angry or disgusted?! I still get nightmares about Enzo’s Avias uhhh lol what happened to Richard angers me why would such BS be allowed to happen?! BIAS that’s for sure! I agree with Jay at feeling disgusted after knowing this case cuz of what happened to Richard!

    Yesterday, it suddenly hit me that 39 years ago, on August 31st, 1985, Richard’s entire life was turned upside down. It’s a strange and almost trivial thought, but it made me realize that he spent more than half of his life in prison and I felt really down thinking about it.

      It makes me feel ill tbh. He went to prison the year before I was born and died still a prisoner when I was in my 20s and it freaks me out to think a baby grew into an adult in the time he was in solitary confinement. That’s so long. How did he survive?

        this truly sickens me it makes me angry sad filled with rage and emotions! Why just why?! Why did they allow him to suffer like this?! They didn’t care at all about Richard or anyone else they just wanted to satisfaction of “catching the serial killer” for their own selfish gain! not caring who they have to bring down along the way to do so! Idk Myself how Richard survived this hell but he for sure was strong enough to survive from 1985-2013 and that’s tough!

        He was incredibly brave and strong to endure what he went through. His story has profoundly impacted the way I view many aspects of life and even altered the course of my career path. Since learning the truth about him, I’ve felt a constant, dull ache knowing that his life, liberty, and humanity were stripped from him, and that he died suffering in prison. I often wish I had been old enough to write to him or even visit him, but instead, I focus on trying to shift people’s perspectives on his case. I aim to engage in meaningful conversations with those willing to listen, hoping to shed light on the complexities that are often overlooked. I sincerely hope that wherever he is now, he has found the peace that eluded him in life.

    Richard’s case is the only true crime case I’ve seen shit like this happen to, I’m sure there were others ofc just not as famous or crazy as this case, but I’m wondering how it be this famous the judge was always siding with the prosecution rejecting the things the defendant was asking, always on the groupies they even interviewed one of his groupies I think Bernadette? Again it’s always about the groupies what’s so special and stuff about this case that makes you ignore the important stuff not allowing others to question stuff like how we are doing!! Why so famous books movies tv shows documentary’s all for money and competition with other police force

      The fact that they were already in the process of making a movie about him in 1989 before I believe the verdict was fully reached, is further proof that this case is solely a case grab than actually about justice.

        I was watching this Depp vs heard case last night on Netflix and one man said something very interesting he said that there isn’t justice it’s not about justice or who’s right or wrong this is about what the jurors think! So basically if you give soemthing for the jurors to see they wouldn’t know if it’s fabricated or false evidence that’s what happened with Richard they didn’t (jurors) know that it was fake and plus why would they question the cops?! It’s so stupid and not fair for Richard

        That’s how it is. A juror can only deliberate on what they’re given, if they’re not given anything in defence or mitigation, they only have the prosecution’s evidence to weigh up.
        That’s what happened in Richard’s case.

        Yes exactly what happened,Richard really had clowns of a lawyers I wish someone helped out a bit with guidance about the trial but his mental health was very bad it’s really sad breaks my heart that’s he had this happen to him, that fact that his team had nothing to show is crazy I was thinking maybe one thing but nope nothing and his case was very defendable but was realized too late by the H twins that it was defendable poor Richard he really was there alone

        I’ve mentioned this before, but the jury for the Night Stalker trial was seriously flawed. They weren’t properly vetted, and many of them held strong superstitious and religious beliefs that would have biased their judgment, especially in a trial where Satanism was a key element. In a case like this, where the media was sensationalizing every detail, the jury should have been sequestered, or the court should have found a way to limit their exposure to outside influences. This kind of media exposure undoubtedly tainted their ability to remain impartial.

        I understand that the defense didn’t provide much evidence or testimony for the jury to work with, but the burden of proof still lies with the prosecution. If the jury felt that the prosecution failed to prove Richard’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, they should have caused a hung jury rather than going straight for the death penalty. From what I’ve read in the juror and alternate juror declarations, there was significant doubt among them, yet they still chose to convict and sentence him to death. It’s infuriating to think about how deeply this case was mishandled and how the jury’s biases and external influences likely contributed to a gross miscarriage of justice.

        I agree. In contrast, the jury who served in the OJ trial were sequestered for 265 days, or thereabouts. In the Night Stalker trial it was all switched around, whereby the defence ultimately failed because they did not prove his innocence, the burden of proof turned back on them (wrongly), and they did not rise to the occasion.
        Ramirez was already assumed to be guilty and I believe that no jury was ever going to acquit, no matter how lousy the evidence, can you imagine the backlash?

        On a related note, I found that trial fascinating. It was intriguing to witness how the public’s perception of Depp shifted—from seeing him as the abuser to recognizing him as the one who was actually being abused. Before the trial, he faced an overwhelming amount of negative press and publicity, but once the trial was broadcast for everyone to see, the entire world could see through Heard’s lies. I can’t help but think that if Richard’s trial had been similarly televised, the outcome might have been at least a little different.

        I wonder if that’s precisely why it isn’t shown in full. Similarly the heavily edited interviews, cut and slashed to look the way they want it to look, rather than how it actually was. The point proven with the showing of the new parts of the 93 interview.

I didn’t even look that video just saw the title it’s really getting out of hands so many of those behaviour videos too are weird and I don’t believe them at all they are reviewing his behaviour based off of edited videos of his or videos that make him look and are cut!       I find it hard to take seriously anything that comes from so-called “expert” YouTube psychologists, psychiatrists, or behavioral analysts. To truly understand a person’s behavior and character, I believe it’s essential to sit down with them for a proper, in-depth conversation. Only through direct interaction can you gain genuine insight into someone’s mind. The limited interviews available with Richard are heavily edited, and his words are often taken out of context to reinforce the Night Stalker image. These so-called expert analyses of his interviews and videos only add to the confusion and further distort the truth.
      I place my trust in the psychological evaluations documented in the Writ. These evaluations were conducted by professionals who spent considerable time with Richard, allowing them to properly analyze him. Contrary to popular belief, Richard was not found to be a psychopath, although he did experience periods of psychosis. From my interpretation of these evaluations, I see Richard as an extremely mentally unwell man who acted in irrational and paranoid ways due to the profound trauma he endured throughout his life. I do not believe he was a bad or evil person—just deeply misunderstood.
      I understand this might sound like I’m excusing everything Richard said and did, but that’s not my intention. I’ve encountered people I consider truly evil and immoral, and based on the insights provided by his ‘trusted’ family, friends, and the psychologists and psychiatrists who evaluated him, Richard does not fit that picture. He was a complex individual whose actions were shaped by a lifetime of suffering and mental illness, rather than inherent malice.

If you’re aiming to provide a well-researched summary or an accurate overview of a case, it’s crucial to draw from multiple sources, cross-reference them, and critically analyze the information to arrive at the most accurate version of the truth.
      Relying solely on one source, particularly one as controversial as Carlo’s, can lead to a distorted and one-sided narrative. It’s essential to consider various perspectives and challenge the information presented, especially in cases as complex as Richard’s. Unfortunately, many of these documentaries fail to do that, resulting in a shallow and often misleading portrayal that does little to uncover the deeper truths or offer any real understanding of the case

        There’s a particular picture that they always say is Richard and it definitely is not.
        It’s of a child, a girl, around 8 years old. It’s not Richard but it’s in almost every YouTube documentary.

During the 1989 trial, the Hernandez clowns deliberately kept Richard’s mental struggles hidden from the public, so his erratic behavior was only ever attributed to his involvement in Satanism, drug use, and the idea that he was inherently evil. This narrative stripped away any opportunity for people to understand the depth of his issues and the impact that untreated mental health can have on a person.

        Even now, as more information about Richard’s mental health comes to light, there’s still so much ignorance and misinformation out there. People continue to label him with conditions that were never mentioned by the psychologists or psychiatrists who actually evaluated him. It’s as if some people prefer to hold onto their preconceived notions rather than confront the more complex reality of his situation.

        The saddest part is that this lack of understanding and empathy robbed Richard of the chance to rehabilitate, to get the help he needed, and perhaps even to find some semblance of happiness. The fact that people overlook this just shows how deeply they buy into the superficial narrative, often fueled by figures like Gil, without doing any of their own research. They act as if they know and understand everything, but in reality, they’re perpetuating harmful myths that prevent a deeper understanding of who Richard really was and what he went through.

    When I think about Richards time in St Quentin I always feel extreme sadness . And then Doreen comes to my mind , it really comforts me a little that she was on his side. They knew each other for ca 8 years and she loved him ! I like that and I think he had a little luck this time . She didnt leave him for a long time snd even ” normal ” relationships tend to become difficult after some years or people get divorced . And …I guess that it s not at all easy to be married to a convicted serialkiller ..As we know her whole family broke up with her….I cannot know how things really were but I m sure it was good ! For both of them .At least I hope so ! And I think its not at all okay to criticise Doreen , people who do so should mind their own Business! Those critics have no right whatsoever to look down at her or criticise her and I believe that she did Support him as well as she could .And that was his luck .

        (Just my opinion): 80% of all tiktokers are underage and their brains are not fully developed. The other 20% are adults and their brains don’t fully work either. Tiktok is a digital asylum for the unwell where the blind are leading the blind. And I also don’t get the people who get on the app to learn “knowledge” and “history”. To me, long form content, books, articles and blogs are much more useful. Not watching fast pace brainrot content or looking at some tiktoker doing voiceovers pointing the finger at some other tiktokers video.

    the thing that annoys my the most those females that talk about the crime and person while doing their make up. They basically repeated eveything and anything that’s false misleading people again about Richard and his family and the victims! They are so annoying with their make up stuff ughhhh and eveyone in the comments section are like “omg wow” etc… and I’m just like 😒😩😑 as in like why are people believing this stuff without proper research?! They truly believe that those makeup true crime girls did their whole hearted research and are now sharing it. Their sources? Carlo and GILY boy!

        The way some of these channels promote products and sponsorships is honestly just gross. It’s like they forget that real people suffered in order for them to make content. The least they could do is show a bit more respect. That being said, there are a few good true crime channels that handle this much better. They delve deeper into the victims’ stories and strive to present the information respectfully, focusing on education rather than just entertainment and profit.

        We’ve tried not to be disrespectful, we do not gratuitously describe what happened, nor show pictures of the deceased, or the crime scenes. We haven’t added unproven details, like Carlo did, who had Ramirez kissing bullets. But for many, the court documents are disrespectful just because they exist.

        The only respectful true crime channel I’ve come across is Kendall Rae. I think she even partners with organisations that donate money to victims and their families. I don’t know if she’s ever done an episode on RR because she mostly does missing cases and lesser known cases but I would like to see a respected true crimer cover RR’s case. But I know that doesn’t fit her format because he is universally labelled as “guilty”.

        OK.. here we go:
        I remember all this going down, I was 17 when Richard was arrested. (Yeah.. I am old lol) It was on the news here, but not excessively.
        Afterwards, I didn’t think much about it again until years later. Years.
        I caught the last episode of the Netflix thing (my son was watching it) and it all came back. So I watched all of the docco on my own and was frustrated at how nothing was explained and how they skimmed through so much.
        Afterwards I decided to dig around to make sense of it and found a news article from March 85, the one where Officer Lou Gallegos explained all the children had independently described a blonde guy. Curiosity peaked.. and I dug more and ended up on the Supreme Court website and got the link for the 2008 petition.
        It snowballed from there, really. I soon realised this was too big for just me, so I roped the others in.
        Venning and I go back years, and I found KayCee purely by chance, and followed her round the internet to make her talk to me. Haha!

        I made this blog because I wanted it out there and I knew Twitter (as it was then) or Tumblr was not the way to go.
        I was sick of hearing the same old stuff over and over, people talking in circles and actually saying nothing.
        No one was talking about the trial, they were just revelling at the horror of it all, or drooling over him.

        There should be balance.

      His first court appearance was in LA , possibly the day after his arrest, or maybe the day after. (Need to check) The yellow jumpsuit was in Orange County , he was arraigned in December 85 there, and he still wore his LA County blue jumpsuit for that (according to news reports). The preliminary hearing was 87, and I guess they put him in the yellow one for that. I’m not entirely sure.

      The justice system in the UK not quite as bad as the US, but it has major faults. There was an exoneration that made the news this year. A guy had been convicted of rape and served 17 years, he didn’t do it and was freed. The victim had wrongly identified him, and although there was no physical evidence, he was sent down for it.
      There’s been many miscarriages of justice here over the years, thankfully we don’t execute them so they live to tell the gross misconduct tales.

      What’s laughable is when someone is exonerated, they get compensation, and then (get this) the prison board will request money for their “bed and board” out of their compensation package, They actually charged them for food and lodgings in the prison, where they shouldn’t have been anyway.

      Shoko Hara made these film. I´ve read in an interview with her that she once write RR too, but then stopped, of course because she is a “correct person” .. oh and she was scared too. The filmmaker said, that she wanted Doreen to take part in her film and made contact with her on facebook, but Doreen did not responde. The filmmaker then contacted the relatives from Doreen and they blocked her….. yes a “correct person”

      I tried to contact “Sarah”, long before the video came out. She used to have a Youtube channel and had some interesting videos there, about philosophy etc. And also a few in which she talked about Richard. I remember that she showed a drawing of her that Richard had made for her. He had drawn her several times, always the same pic, but slightly different, a side view of her, on her knees, sitting on her feet, with her red hair… Maybe you have seen them somewhere. She showed the original pic of her, that she had sent Richard. However, she was not interested in talking with me about Richard and answered me only once or twice. Later she changed her Youtube channel and then deleted it completely. I believe it had to do with her job. Clients probably wouldn’t understand that kind of content. I found her interesting, but on the other hand also a bit “too much” for me. I’m not a hybristophile and I’m not into things like BDSM or body morphing etc.

        I think he meant that he gave up on love and happiness after his first relationship broke while he was in reform school and then his girlfriend married someone else. But I think that was not the only reason. I believe that he just realised at a young age that people talk a lot and then do something else as they said. Like everyone… parents, friends, girlfriends, church, teachers etc. I think Doreen was more like a good friend for him, he trusted her (which means a lot, if you know that he practically didn’t trust anyone), she was reliable. And she was the one who stayed. Many others came and left after some weeks or months or maybe after a few years. Regarding Sarah.. she didn’t tell me anything, only one or two short messages (I don’t have them anymore) I remember only that she believed he was guilty. And I believe, she was later in a relationship with another guy on death row. (But I’m not 100% sure about that)

    why is it that only Richard’s case is treated like this!! Look at Bundy’s for example he had Groupies and fangirl and also people writting to him! So why Richard only?! I get it that RR was very poor with mental health problems & TB wasn’t but still look at how well they treated TB Case they knew he was guilty yet they treated him as innocent until proven guilty while with RR it was already assumed guilty weeks before his arrest when there reasonably doubt and that Richard didn’t commit those crimes but someone else did. And after all this TB was allowed a fair trial but Richard not? Like he wasn’t allowed to prove his innocence?!

Unlike Bundy’s trial, where I have found a decent amount of footage, Richard Ramirez’s trial wasn’t aired, and we have only a fraction of the footage from his proceedings compared to Bundy’s. Despite this, the media played a crucial role in amplifying Ramirez’s infamy. His face was frequently shown, and media outlets were relentless in their coverage. This constant spotlight contributed to his public image as the “Night Stalker” long before he was even convicted, essentially turning him into a macabre celebrity. The media’s portrayal of him was often skewed, focusing on sensational aspects and editing his statements to paint him in the worst light.

      Interestingly, Ramirez seemed to attract a larger following of admirers than Bundy. Some of his fans were quite vocal about their admiration, which was more apparent compared to Bundy’s groupies.

      On a related note, Bundy did have access to competent legal representation, though he frequently clashed with his public defenders and tried to dismiss them. His ego and stubbornness might have hindered his chances more than his legal team’s competence. In contrast, Ramirez’s legal defense was notably inadequate. Had he stuck with his public defenders, he might have had a better shot at receiving a fair trial.

His family harbored a deep distrust of public defenders, believing that private attorneys would better protect their interests. He probably didn’t see any reason to question his family’s judgment, especially given his limited understanding of legal proceedings, which was rudimentary even by layperson standards.
        One thing that puzzles me is whether his family believed he was guilty from the outset. I recall reading in Manny’s declaration that Rosa expected to receive upwards of $300,000 for a movie or book deal. While Manny is known to be a crook and a con man, there’s likely some truth in what he said. Expecting such a large sum of money from a deal suggests that the family may have believed, on some level, that Richard was guilty. This implication has stuck with me, and I often find myself thinking about it.
        The separate agreement Richard’s family had with the attorneys also complicated his defense. It created a conflict of interest, as no attorney wants to alienate the person who is effectively paying them. This arrangement likely undermined Richard’s defense, as the attorneys may have been more concerned with appeasing his family than providing the best possible representation.
        In the end it all seems to just be about money, money, and most of all money.

    Does anyone know how many times per year Doreen would visit Richard? Im asking the most random questions but Im curious about a lot. Im sure there must be records of her visits.

      I have a schedule from SQ somewhere, I have been trying to find where I saved it, without any success.
      I can’t quite remember how many visiting slots he had during the week, I want to say Thursdays and Saturdays, but I could be wrong. I will keep looking.

        Speaking of visitors lists. Of course Gil Carrillo claims that he visited Richard, at which point these detailed confessions supposedly happened. So, I’ve thought that if the lists of visitors still exist, what would they show? Of course even if Carrillo showed up on it, that wouldn’t tell us anything about what was or wasn’t said during the visit. But what I’m thinking is, wouldn’t it be “interesting” if it turned out Carrillo didn’t even show up on the visitors lists at all?

        I definitely think he exaggerates everything. I found him telling three different versions of the same story in his guest appearances on podcasts. These regarded offers to confess while in San Quentin.

        Good point made, “N. S.” I think it’s wise to assume anything Gil says is pure speculation or figment of his imagination. That’s how little credibilty he has.

    I was rereading the parts about Arturo Robles, and while I don’t believe he’s a saint, I think it’s deeply unjust that he was so blatantly exposed in the 2021 Netflix documentary probably without his consent. The police put him through a lot during the initial investigation and interrogation related to the Night Stalker cases in the 1980s. Nearly three decades later, dragging him back into the public eye and destroying his reputation seems incredibly unfair. People often don’t realize how even mere accusations can completely ruin someone’s life. If I were in his position, I’d seriously consider legal action. How many people’s lives are they gonna ruin?

      That`s the problem with this case. People can be destroyed with accusation. I think Doreen too avoid public because you can’t win. I am not really sure if Doreen really sold his ashes? People claim everything in Tic Toc or You Tube, they have nothing to loose no reputation, nobody put legal actions…. the death of RR on the other hand is very protected…. I agree because of his human rights! but what about constant speculations and repetitions?

        Hi, Doreen did not sell his ashes, she scattered them where he wanted to be. She did sell the box they were in and his toe tag, though.
        Both are now in a museum in Las Vegas.

        I don’t condone what Doreen did, but I can understand why she would. She dedicated her life for him and fell out with her family. For all we know maybe she had to move location and even had to quit her job or get into debt in order to help Richard with money for commissary ect. She did her duty by granting his wish where to scatter his ashes. The money she esrned for the box and tag may have paid her debt or even paid for her new ID and relocation, which she allegedly did after he passed.

        When I first heard about it, I couldn’t help but wonder whether she really sold Richard’s actual ashes box and toe tag or if she somehow created replicas and sold those instead. I’ve always had this sneaking suspicion that not everything she sells is genuinely Richard’s. It’s just a thought that’s lingered in the back of my mind, though I’m not trying to accuse anyone of anything. I’m sure there would be serious legal consequences for doing something like that, but the whole situation still raises questions for me.

    What are your current stats on the book so far. The book is fantastic, I am on part 6, just finished the Knieding murders. I read somewhat on the slow side, just because I want to really comprehend what I am reading, bad habit of mine 🤪 Anyway, how’s everyone doing?

    learning more about this case it’s seems like it doesn’t matter what Richard’s teams does as vivi and I have talked about even if he shows proof of his innocence and has competent lawyers I feel as tho the media the prosecution etc… can manipulate it and still the results would come the same, I might be wrong but that’s just what I think. They were way too bias of Richard and just wanted someone to take the blame for the crimes lazy ass popos for sure they were! So doesn’t matter what Richard’s team brings out the bias rate was way too high he was always gonna get the same results I think! Poor Richard

        I probably didn’t word my reply very well. When i said “we”, I meant any of us, me, you..anyone. I am inclined to think that Richard would definitely say he was not the Night Stalker to his sister and Barraza, it’s hard to think otherwise. You don’t ever need to worry about upsetting me, you do not come here and insult us, you think, you engage, you ask pertinent questions. I am glad you are here.

        I have to try hard to ignore them when they come. Because I know they’ll be caused by anger combined with denial and an inability to understand the legal system and nuanced arguments. Not because it’s a shit book.

        It angers me that they have this fixed mindset instead of an open mind you have to be willing to be open to learn new things they can’t just accept the official narrative as truth and we are lying! Ik we can’t change their minds but people should just be willing to see both sides to the case and see that there’s reasonable doubt to almost everything about this case! They put too much trust in the justice system and judge and cops when not understanding that all of that is so flawed it’s not even funny.

      I only know that he took marijuana and cocaine, then there were vitamins to help him gain weight but those aren’t drugs.

      He seems to have taken lsd, pcp, coccaine, weed and also “speedballs”.

        Yeah I read somewhere that they found trenbolone in his possession and that it was tren that attributed to his chiseled facial structure. It’s crazy that he took PCP. No wonder he suffered psychosis.
