It’s That Time Again

We’re happy to welcome many new subscribers to this blog.  You join us at a time when most of the articles have been published, and the flow has slowed up a little as much of what we wished to say we have now published.  Our attention has turned to the production of our book, which is in the final stages of completion.

We’re enhancing the blog layout to make your navigation experience more seamless. We’ve introduced buttons on the front page, and while only some articles are on their individual pages, we’re working on it. More buttons will be added soon, so stay tuned for these improvements.
In the meantime, below the buttons, there’s a complete list of categories containing articles, ninety-nine in total so far (including this).

What We Are

It’s probably easier to explain what we are not. This is not a fan site – it never has been – and we do not populate our articles with pictures of bloodied crime scenes and victims. If you enjoy that sort of thing, perhaps this isn’t the place for you.

We try not take a stance of ‘innocence’ or ‘guilt’ in the Night Stalker case, although our focus is on highlighting the presence of reasonable doubt in many of the charges.

This blog was set up to demonstrate the inconsistencies and inaccuracies in this most famous of trials.

Using legal documents, we aim to show:

  • Unqualified, incompetent defence
  • False and misleading evidence
  • Failure to investigate mental competency
  • Failure to challenge evidence
  • Denial of venue change
  • Denial of motion to sever charges
  • Media influence
  • Non-sequestered jury
  • Unreliable eyewitness testimonies
  • Failure to defend charges
  • Hiding of possible exculpatory evidence
  • Perjury
  • Tainted and compromised lineup

These points remain our central themes.

The right to a fair and unbiased trial and competent assistance of counsel “is one of the safeguards of the Sixth Amendment deemed necessary to ensure fundamental human rights of life and liberty”

Echo Chamber

Amidst the rhetoric and usual tropes attributed to Richard Ramirez and Night Stalker case, we are committed to being a voice of balance. We are here to speak out when blatant untruths are continually given as ‘gospel’.  Please read what we’ve got to say, read it twice, maybe three times, and ask us if you wish us to clarify anything; we will do our best to answer.  Although we don’t pretend to have all the answers.

The Future

A while ago, I mentioned that we had been invited to talk on a podcast, an interview, if you like. That is still going ahead. We wanted to concentrate on the book first. Once that’s done, I will set up a date and will let you know when and where to find us.
We also intend to eventually include other cases that fall into the “miscarriage of justice” files, both old ones and perhaps current ones. For us, it is vitally important to highlight a broken judicial system.

Thank You

We want to take a moment to express our deep appreciation for each and every one of you. We value the time you take to engage with us, and your contributions mean a lot.  Thanks a million for sticking with us and reading our words. You are an integral part of our community, and we’re grateful for your support.

A polite note: We welcome intelligent, enquiring, and polite comments. We do not tolerate trolls or bullying of other members on this site.

A huge thank you from me, too. I can’t help but feel that RR is innocent of murder, because of your blog, everything can be explained away. I know that he’s not innocent of grand theft auto, small time robberies, and drug abuse, but murder, no. It has been said that he was too nervous to have pulled off the ultimate crime. I just don’t see it, he even said he wasn’t the Night Stalker multiple times. Anyway, your book is going to be amazing!! Thank you so much for bringing the lies to the forefront!

    1. Hi, it’s weird, isn’t it? There are so many gaping holes in this case, which is kind of the point we’re making, really.
      Thank you for your support.

    2. Even for the crimes that seem the most sketchy and don’t look too good for him, we’ve attempted to give the kind of defence he was denied. I was really shocked when I realised that every single piece of evidence can be explained away. The prosecution’s case really was devoid of any hard evidence and it still blows my mind.

      1. but how can people just expect this kind of BS from the cops?! Like I remember reading in your page that someone on his team wanted to retest a fingerprint but was denied! Really?! Why?! Cops worried that this prints doesn’t belong to RR and would make him innocent! I know that print doesn’t belong to RR but to someone else I bet that’s why they denied a retest! The cops hiding way more things than anyone knows and thinks scared that their reputation will get wrecked

      2. That was during his appeal, and expert defence witness and fingerprint examiner, Ron Smith, requested full access to the evidence for a complete retest. The US Government denied his request. They did the same with the shoeprint expert as well. Luckily DiMeo had already conducted her examinations of the shoeprint evidence, but she wanted greater access and asked to be allowed to take the evidence to her own lab and use her own tools (as she had done many times before) The Government refused.
We must consider why, IF they were so sure the prosecution evidence was sound.

  6. like what were they truly hiding is what I’m wondering?! This is too fishy again to me it just doesn’t add up right with me.

  7. Hi Thanks for summarizing the situation about the evidences and the view of Smith and DiMeo.Again I realize that many of the incidents and their examinations should be read more than once as some are more complicated than it seems. .Maybe you could make a summary of the Avia shoe s evidence of rather the lack of it too?

    1. Hi, I did a post about the shoe evidence, or did you mean a simplified one?

Oh, I’ve just seen your other comment. Ha ha! I get it, it IS an unholy mess.

    1. Hi, I think the easiest way, in the short term, would be to go to the shoeprint post and ask under there for anything you’d like us to clarify. I appreciate it’s very complicated.
The book will have more in, and if I tell you that during the research (one particular night) Venning and I did not go to bed, you can probably see why.
We still refer to that night as Avia Patent Hell.. and that was over a year after I wrote that initial article for the blog. Ha ha! We see those soles in our dreams.

    3. The shoes is definitely complicated. It’s been an education though, learning parts of a shoe… I should have been a forensic scientist ha ha!
Like Jay said, the book will have diagrams and details in it. Our other writer KayCee still found it confusing in the proofreading stage though!

  11. Hi Yes I m German ! And I had some concentration problems concerning the Avia shoes ..but , haha , I did understand it finally. And I also see your own effort in writing this ! Yesterday I watched some old Videos about the case ..and I saw 3 clips with Philip Carlo…And I understood again why Richard called him a weasel….He made things worse for Richard . .the role of Philip Carlo is quite underestimated I think . Bye and ROCK ON !

    1. He really betrayed him. I think he called him a creature after ingratiating himself. Richard seemed oddly naive at times and really believed he’d be portrayed well in books and acted surprised when he wasn’t.

    2. I am glad you got to grips with the convoluted Avia shoe prints, I appreciate how tangled it seems at first glance. Carlo definitely stirred the pot, Ramirez was a fool for trusting him.

Im glad the book is coming along. I look forward to hearing the upcoming podcast episode too. Although I read a lot, sometimes it’s easier to follow the case through listening because there’s so much to unpack.
